Roya in Office

For Every Case. For Our Community. For Lafayette.

Justice Matters.

About Roya

For every case.

Roya is an accomplished and respected attorney with extensive experience handling high-profile cases. A graduate of Southern University Law Center, she began her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Clayton Davis in Lake Charles, where she developed a deep appreciation for the qualities that make a great judge: courtesy, preparedness, and, above all, fairness, and impartiality.

After completing her clerkship, Roya worked as a Public Defender in the 16th Judicial District, gaining invaluable insight into how compassion, understanding, and mercy play essential roles in a just legal system. In 2014, Roya returned to Lafayette as an Assistant District Attorney in the 15th Judicial District. There, she quickly rose to the role of Track Leader, handling a demanding felony docket that included cases ranging from theft to capital murder.

In addition to prosecuting these cases, she oversaw the Issuing Worthless Check Division and served as a key member of the Sexual Assault Response Team, where she advocates for victims of sexual assault. Over the years, Roya has tried several high-profile cases, earning a reputation for her skill, integrity, and commitment to justice.

For our community.

A lifelong Lafayette native, Roya Boustany has distinguished herself both in and outside the courtroom through hard work, compassion, and professionalism. The daughter of Debbie Benoit of Lafayette and Mohammad Sadreddini of Tehran, Roya was taught at a very young age that the American Dream is within reach if you work hard, set goals, and contribute to your community.

A graduate of Lafayette Middle School, Lafayette High School, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Roya has spent her entire life in either public school or public service, working for her community.
